Challenge of the week: Take an unheated shower!

Taking an unheated shower can reduce your use of fuel, thus reduce your carbon footprint. Unheated showers also tend to be shorter showers, reducing water transport!

Some tips:

- Keep it short

- Dance around like a maniac

- Wear a sweater afterwards

Taking cold showers is fun and energizing. You won't believe how awake you feel after you've taken it!

Let's reduce our carbon footprint—keep our ice caps!

Challenge of the Week: Spend three days Vegetarian or even Vegan!

In this challenge, we spend three days vegan, or if this is too difficult, vegetarian! If you find this lifestyle easy or doable in this time, then perhaps consider making the switch.

Vegetarian is the name for people who don't eat any meat, fish, or poultry. This is a healthy life style that lessens animal cruelty and helps the environment.

Vegan is the term for people who don't eat any animal products, such as meat (including fish and poultry), milk, and eggs. There are many health benefits to this lifestyle, as well as it being one of the most green and animal-friendly options for you and the Earth!

Tips:

1) Instead of meat, try mushrooms! When sauteed in olive oil, mushrooms can adopt a taste that isn't similar to meat, but can replace it wonderfully. I love mushrooms!

2) Try beans! Beans are delicious, and offer lots of valuable protein. Classic Mexican dishes include beans and rice with salsa and avocado!

3) Most of all, have fun with it! Experiment with different vegan substitutes for pizza, sandwiches, smoothies... You could even make a meatless hamburger, with beans or mushrooms instead of beef!

Happy days to you!
